Man Dies After Tree Falls on Car

A tragic incident occurred on the A34 southbound carriageway near Kings Worthy and Winnal, where a tree fell on a black Mercedes E350, resulting in the death of a man in his 60s. Emergency services responded shortly before 8am, confirming the driver dead at the scene, while his family has been notified. A silver Skoda Kodiaq was also involved but no other injuries were reported. Police are seeking witnesses and dash cam footage to aid in their investigation. In a separate incident, a 66-year-old man in Elgin died after his SUV struck a tree; he was pronounced dead at the hospital following a head-on collision. Authorities are also looking for information related to this accident, which occurred when the vehicle was reportedly traveling the wrong way before the crash.
