Multiple Motorcycle Crashes Kill At Least Eight
A series of motorcycle crashes across the U.S. and abroad left at least eight people dead and numerous others injured, prompting multiple local investigations. Crashes included a Fort Wayne, Indiana collision that left a rider with life‑threatening injuries; a two‑vehicle crash near Mount Washington, Kentucky that killed two; and a Pickaway County, Ohio rider who was struck from behind and pronounced dead. In Tulare County, California, two motorcyclists and the driver of an SUV were pronounced dead at the scene of a Highway 198 collision that blocked the road, and a crash near Mesa Gateway Airport killed one rider and injured another. Abroad, an 18‑year‑old motorcyclist was killed and his 16‑year‑old pillion hospitalized in Johor Baru, Malaysia, and other incidents in Kenton County, Ottawa and Scarborough left riders seriously injured. Authorities have opened investigations, urged witnesses to come forward, and are probing causes including speed and failure to stop.
