Muslim Community Protests in Mumbai Over Hate Speech

A significant protest involving over 12,000 members of the Muslim community, led by former MP Imtiaz Jaleel of AIMIM, aimed to demand action against BJP MLA Nitesh Rane and preacher Ramgiri Maharaj for alleged hate speech. Despite the large turnout and the rally, named the 'Tiranga Samvidhan Rally', the protesters were denied entry into Mumbai and had to disperse at the Mulund toll naka after submitting their demands to officials. Heavy police presence, with over 3,000 officers deployed, ensured that the rally concluded without escalation, though it caused notable traffic disruptions along the Samruddhi Expressway. Jaleel condemned the lack of action against the accused and called for stricter laws against hate speech, emphasizing the importance of adhering to the Constitution.
