Corey Perry to Debut; Kopitar Placed on IR

The Los Angeles Kings activated veteran forward Corey Perry from injured reserve and he is scheduled to make his Kings and 2025-26 season debut Tuesday against the St. Louis Blues after missing the preseason and the first six games following knee surgery. Perry, 40, signed a one‑year, $2 million deal in the off-season and has 448 goals and 935 points in 1,392 career games, including a 2007 Stanley Cup and the 2011 Hart and Rocket Richard trophies; he scored 19 goals and 30 points for Edmonton last season. The Kings also placed captain Anze Kopitar on injured reserve (week‑to‑week with a foot injury), and Kopitar has said he will retire at season’s end. Los Angeles (1‑3‑2) is also missing starter Darcy Kuemper, and the team plans to ease Perry in while expecting his experience and leadership to provide a spark.
