Manchester City defeats Everton 2-0, moves into fourth place
Manchester City boosted their Champions League qualification hopes with a 2-0 victory over Everton at Goodison Park, moving up to fourth in the Premier League. The match was largely uneventful until the final minutes, when Nico O’Reilly scored from close range after a Matheus Nunes cross, followed by a powerful finish from Mateo Kovacic to secure the win. Everton came close in the first half, with James Tarkowski hitting the post, but struggled to create clear chances thereafter. City’s win extends their unbeaten run against Everton and puts additional pressure on their rivals in the race for top-five Champions League spots. The result leaves Everton in 13th place, while City are now four points ahead of Chelsea and Aston Villa, though each has a game in hand.
