Four Former Cincinnati Cops Sue Police Chief Over Alleged Anti-White Discrimination
Four former members of the Cincinnati Police Department have filed a federal lawsuit against Police Chief Teresa Theetge and the city, alleging systemic workplace discrimination against white males. The plaintiffs, including one captain and three lieutenants, claim that since Theetge's appointment, promotion and assignment decisions have favored women and racial minorities through a race-based quota system, excluding white men. They assert that they were repeatedly passed over for preferred assignments critical for career advancement, resulting in harm to their professional reputations and emotional distress. The officers are seeking compensatory damages, including lost wages and benefits, a jury trial, and a court order to end the alleged discriminatory practices. Attorney Zack Gottesman, representing the officers, highlighted multiple incidents of blatant discrimination and noted other ongoing lawsuits against the city and police department for similar claims. Meanwhile, Chief Theetge has also publicly blamed social media for the coverage of a recent violent incident involving a white couple attacked by a mob, further highlighting tensions surrounding the police department's leadership and community relations.
