15-Year-Old Detained After Police Chase of Stolen Car from Armed Robbery

A 15-year-old boy was detained in Memphis after leading police on a chase in a stolen vehicle connected to an armed robbery. The incident began when a man with a black rifle robbed a victim at Denver Park, demanding items and ultimately striking the victim before fleeing in the victim's black 2016 Nissan Altima. Early Sunday morning, police on patrol observed the stolen vehicle run a stop sign, attempted a traffic stop, but the driver refused to comply, prompting a pursuit. The chase ended when the vehicle crashed into a tree, and three individuals exited the car, attempting to flee on foot. After a brief foot chase, police apprehended the 15-year-old driver behind the Ed Rice Community Center. The victim was treated at a local hospital for non-critical injuries.
