MLB 2025 Silver Slugger Finalists Announced
Major League Baseball announced the 2025 Silver Slugger finalists, with National League winners to be revealed Nov. 6 and American League winners on Nov. 7. Managers and coaches selected three finalists per position based on offensive statistics and voters’ impressions, and the three-finalist format — plus voters’ reliance on reputation — produced some surprising nominations and snubs. Notable National League finalists include San Diego’s Manny Machado (3B) and utilityman Jake Cronenworth; the Chicago Cubs’ Pete Crow‑Armstrong, Kyle Tucker and Nico Hoerner; Arizona’s Ketel Marte, Corbin Carroll and Geraldo Perdomo; Milwaukee’s Brice Turang, William Contreras and Christian Yelich; Philadelphia’s Trea Turner and Kyle Schwarber; and Atlanta’s Matt Olson and Austin Riley. The American League features Toronto nominees Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (1B), Bo Bichette (SS, reportedly sidelined with a knee issue) and George Springer (nominated at both DH and outfield), while Kansas City tied Toronto and the Yankees for the AL lead with four finalists — including Salvador Perez (C), Vinnie Pasquantino (1B), Bobby Witt Jr. (SS) and Maikel Garcia (utility). Other highlighted finalists include Alex Bregman as Boston’s lone nominee, rising third-base candidate Junior Caminero, and Brendan Donovan as a National League utility finalist.
