Margo Price Releases Bob Dylan-Inspired Single, Announces Fall North America Tour

Margo Price has released her new single “Don’t Wake Me Up,” a duet with singer-songwriter Jesse Welles, which is featured on her upcoming album Hard Headed Woman set for release on August 29. The song, inspired by poet Frank Stanford and resurrected from Price's abandoned notebook by her husband Jeremy Ivey, channels a spirit of escapism amid a chaotic world, with lyrics inviting listeners to dream despite external turmoil. Its music video, directed by Hannah Gray Hall, pays homage to Bob Dylan’s iconic 1965 video for “Subterranean Homesick Blues” by showcasing a series of Americana locations including dive bars, cow pastures, and Waffle Houses. Price describes Welles as a prolific artist with meaningful lyrics, and their collaboration adds depth to the track’s urgent tone. Ahead of the album release, Price will embark on the Wild at Heart Tour this fall across North America, with dates beginning October 23 in St. Louis and including stops at notable venues and festivals like Newport Folk and Farm Aid.
