India is set to send its largest contingent ever to the Paris 2024 Paralympics, comprising 84 athletes, with the aim of surpassing its historic 19-medal tally from the Tokyo Games. The para canoe events will take place from September 6 to September 8 at the Vaires-sur-Marne Stadium, featuring six kayak and four va’a events. Among the athletes, India will be represented by Prachi Yadav, Yash Kumar, and Pooja Ojha in para canoeing, while the broader team includes participants in 12 sports, including para cycling, para rowing, and blind judo. Notably, female representation has increased to 32 athletes, enhancing diversity in the contingent. Each sport will feature various events, with para athletics comprising 27 competitions. The Indian team aims to build on the momentum from the recent Olympics, hoping to achieve greater glory in Paris.
