Air New Zealand Reveals 125-Piece Cultural Uniform Collection

Air New Zealand has unveiled a new uniform collection, designed by Emilia Wickstead, featuring 125 pieces that reflect New Zealand's rich cultural heritage and pride. The uniforms, to be worn by 6,000 employees, incorporate bespoke hand-painted prints by tā moko artist Te Rangitu Netana, with designs inspired by Māori stories. Key elements include a pinstripe suit for pilots with a kiwi feather lining, the Ie Faitaga for Pasifika staff, and the Fine Print-Dress with a kōwhai print. The collection emphasizes bold colors and intricate designs, showcasing New Zealand's unique identity on the global stage. The uniforms will undergo wearer trials starting in May 2025, with a full rollout expected by 2026. Air New Zealand CEO Greg Foran described the uniforms as a celebration of the airline's people, culture, and values, highlighting their tradition of bold innovation and cultural respect.
