The Pittsburgh Penguins have announced Joe Brand as their new radio play-by-play announcer, replacing Steve Mears who moved to the Columbus Blue Jackets. Brand, who previously worked with the Chicago Blackhawks, will cover all regular-season and playoff games, joined primarily by color analyst Phil Bourque. Paul Steigerwald will return as the pre- and post-game host. Brand brings extensive experience, having called games for various sports at both professional and collegiate levels. Penguins' President of Business Operations Kevin Acklin expressed excitement about Brand joining the team and contributing to the franchise's storied broadcasting legacy.
