Teen Rapper Sentenced for Attempted Murder

Kaeden 'Baby K' Holland, a teenage rapper, has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for attempting to murder a fellow student on a Prince George’s County school bus in May 2023. Holland, then 15, pointed a gun at the 14-year-old victim and pulled the trigger multiple times, but the gun malfunctioned. Following this, Holland and two accomplices beat the victim. Holland pleaded guilty to attempted first-degree murder and weapons charges earlier this year and will serve his time at the Patuxent Institution, a maximum-security adult prison offering therapy and counseling programs. The case has underscored issues within the juvenile justice system and the high incarceration rates of Black youths in Maryland. Holland will also face five years of probation upon release.
