Atlanta Airport Retains Title as Busiest in 2024

According to OAG's latest report, Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport remains the world's busiest airport in 2024, with 62.7 million departing seats, reflecting a 2% increase from 2023 but still slightly below pre-pandemic levels. Dubai International Airport follows in second place, achieving a 7% year-over-year growth in capacity to 60.2 million seats, highlighting its strategic role as a global aviation hub. Tokyo Haneda Airport ranks third with 55.2 million seats, a 5% increase, while London Heathrow is fourth, serving as Europe's busiest airport with 51.5 million seats. Dallas Fort Worth and Denver International Airports saw significant capacity boosts, earning fifth and sixth places, respectively. Additionally, Shanghai Pudong International Airport experienced the highest growth at 29%, moving from 15th to 9th position. The report underscores a strong recovery in the aviation sector, with increasing capacities across all regions.
