75% Indian Enterprises Encounter SaaS Implementation Delays, Study Finds
A recent survey, 'IDC State of SaaS Adoption in India Survey 2024,' commissioned by Zoho, reveals that 75% of Indian enterprises adopting Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions since 2020 are facing significant implementation delays, resulting in an average timeline overrun of 57% and a cost overrun of 43%. These delays have led to an estimated loss of ₹5.6 crore per enterprise due to missed opportunities, adversely affecting productivity, customer satisfaction, and competitive positioning. Industry experts, including Zoho CEO Mani Vembu and IDC's Sharath Srinivasamurthy, emphasize the necessity for a strategic approach that leverages automation and contextual intelligence to expedite SaaS implementation. The survey highlights that while a vast majority of enterprises recognize the importance of timely deployment, many are hindered by increased costs and stalled digital transformation efforts. Various sectors, including healthcare, financial services, and manufacturing, report similar challenges with high costs and customer dissatisfaction linked to these delays. Overall, the findings underscore the critical need for efficient SaaS deployment as a business imperative rather than solely an IT concern.
