Former NASCAR Cup Series champion Kurt Busch was arrested in Iredell County, North Carolina, on charges of driving while impaired, speeding, and reckless driving. The 46-year-old was stopped late Tuesday night for driving 63 mph in a 45 mph zone. A sobriety test revealed a blood alcohol concentration level of 0.17, more than double the legal limit of 0.08. Busch was taken to the Iredell County Jail and later released with a written promise to appear in court on September 19. He has expressed regret and apologized to his family, fans, and the racing community. This incident marks a troubling moment for Busch, who had previously faced similar DUI issues in 2005 but had worked to rehabilitate his public image since then.
