Imran Khan Faces Potential Military Trial

Khan's legal team has filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court to halt the trial, but the court has raised objections regarding the validity of the petition due to missing documentation. Asif emphasized that military trials have historical precedent and will continue if necessary, while also claiming that former ISI chief Faiz Hameed could provide evidence against Khan. The Supreme Court recently suspended its earlier ruling deeming civilian trials in military courts unlawful, leaving the final decision about military trials pending. Meanwhile, Khan's party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), dismisses the likelihood of a military trial for their leader. Asif also alleged that Hameed sought support from the PML-N to become army chief, further complicating the political landscape.
