Netflix Sets Release for Thursday Murder Club Film

Netflix has announced that 'The Thursday Murder Club,' an adaptation of Richard Osman's bestselling novel, will release on August 28, 2025. Directed by Chris Columbus and produced alongside Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment, the film stars Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley, Celia Imrie, and David Tennant. The story follows four retirees—an ex-spy, a former union activist, an ex-psychiatrist, and a retired nurse—who solve cold cases and find themselves caught in a real murder mystery in their British retirement community. The screenplay is written by Katy Brand and Suzanne Heathcote. The adaptation is based solely on the first book in Osman's series, despite multiple sequels. Director Columbus praised the cast highly, and the film joins the growing trend of murder mystery adaptations.
