Black Music Action Coalition Gala Honors Stars

The Black Music Action Coalition (BMAC) held its fourth annual gala at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, honoring LL COOL J and Usher among others for their contributions to music and activism. LL COOL J received the Clarence Avant Trailblazer Award, while Usher accepted the Quincy Jones Humanitarian Award, both emphasizing the importance of using their platforms to inspire and uplift the Black community. During his acceptance speech, Usher reflected on the role of male mentors in his life and the significance of action in pursuing dreams, quoting scripture to stress that faith without action is dead. LL COOL J discussed his motivation for creating his new album 'The Force', aiming to show future generations that hip-hop is not disposable. The gala also featured performances and recognized various industry figures, including the BET Media Group and Ivy McGregor of BeyGOOD, highlighting BMAC's ongoing mission to combat systemic racism in the music industry.
