Man Arrested in Fatal Hit-and-Run of Teen

A 17-year-old girl, Eunikue Roberson, was killed in a hit-and-run accident early Saturday morning at the intersection of 5th Avenue and Madison Street in Gary, Indiana. Police were alerted shortly before 6 a.m. and arrived to find Roberson unresponsive on the ground with an electric motorized scooter nearby. Despite resuscitation efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses reported that the vehicle involved fled the scene prior to police arrival. Following the incident, authorities executed a search warrant at a residence, where they seized a suspect vehicle and took a person of interest into custody. The case is under investigation, and charges are pending review by the Lake County Prosecutor's Office.
