Waterford Man Faces Charges in Trafficking Case
Quincy Lamar Bland, a 43-year-old man from Waterford, is facing multiple felony charges for allegedly trafficking two women out of hotels and motels in Metro Detroit. He is accused of using violence, threats, and crack cocaine to control the women, keeping them awake for days to work. Bland was arrested on November 26 after police identified a victim and obtained a search warrant for his home, where they found drugs, cash, and multiple cell phones. Charged with seven felonies and two misdemeanors, Bland is currently held on a $100,000 bond and awaits a probable cause hearing. Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald emphasized the need for a large-scale response to combat the pervasive issue of human trafficking.
