A 24-year-old man, Trey Duus, was arrested after attempting to kidnap a male student from a classroom at Sequoia High School in Redwood City, CA. The incident occurred around 2 p.m. when Duus entered the classroom and grabbed the student, but a teacher intervened, stopping the attempt. Duus fled, claiming to have a gun, which later turned out to be an umbrella. The school was locked down as police searched for Duus, who was eventually subdued using less-lethal force and arrested. During his escape, Duus caused property damage, including punching a hole in a bathroom wall and stealing a printer cartridge. He is facing multiple charges, including attempted kidnapping, child endangerment, and burglary, and is being held at Maguire Correctional Facility.
