Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has announced a comprehensive flood relief package for the victims of the recent floods, which he described as an unprecedented calamity affecting 2.72 lakh families. The package includes Rs 25,000 for ground floor houses and Rs 10,000 for first-floor houses that were submerged, along with Rs 25,000 for small businesses and varying amounts for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) based on their turnover. Naidu emphasized that the assistance is targeted primarily at tenants, while property owners are encouraged to pursue insurance claims for damages. Additional support for farmers and fishermen includes compensation for damaged crops and equipment, with specific amounts designated for different types of losses. The government has received significant donations totaling Rs 300 crore to aid in the relief efforts. Naidu also criticized the opposition for politicizing the disaster and highlighted the government's proactive measures in response to the crisis.
