Concacaf Probes Canada Soccer, Marsch After Gold Cup
Concacaf has launched a disciplinary investigation into Canada Soccer and men's national team head coach Jesse Marsch following allegations of disregarding regulations regarding suspended match officials and using offensive language toward Concacaf officials during Canada's 6-0 Gold Cup win over Honduras. Marsch was not on the sidelines as he was serving a two-match suspension for misconduct during the Nations League finals in March, with assistant coach Mauro Biello in charge. The Disciplinary Committee is reviewing available evidence and official reports and has warned that further incidents could result in more severe penalties. Canada currently leads their Gold Cup group and is set to face Curaçao next. Concacaf has not yet disclosed details of the specific incidents under investigation. Additional sanctions may be imposed depending on the investigation's findings.
