Multiple Wisconsin Garage Fires Caused by Fireworks, No Fatalities Reported

Several garage fires occurred recently in Wisconsin and North Dakota, with most incidents linked to fireworks. In Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, fireworks discarded near garbage cans caused a fire in an attached garage, but quick response from multiple fire departments prevented the flames from spreading beyond the garage, resulting in no injuries and only minor smoke damage to the home. Similarly, in Dickinson, North Dakota, a garage fire caused by fireworks was quickly extinguished, with one person injured and three dogs safely evacuated. In Wisconsin Rapids, two separate garage fires were reported: one early morning fire that spread to the house and nearby siding but resulted in no injuries, and another at the city garage that caused minor damage to equipment but no major structural harm. Fire departments from surrounding areas assisted in these efforts, with hot weather and hazardous conditions like downed power lines complicating firefighting. Investigations continue into the causes of some fires, while fireworks remain a confirmed cause in others.
