Prince Harry participated in a virtual Christmas party for 280 bereaved military children, organized by the charity Scotty's Little Soldiers, emphasizing the importance of acknowledging various emotions during the holiday season. Wearing a Santa hat, he reassured the children that it's normal to feel a mix of happiness, sadness, and reflection at Christmas, stating, "It's OK to feel however you feel." His presence was particularly meaningful, as he has been an ambassador for the charity since 2023 and has supported it since 2017, highlighting his commitment to military families. Nikki Scott, the charity's founder, noted that such events help foster a sense of community and support among bereaved children. The charity supports over 730 young individuals each year who have lost a parent in the armed forces, with approximately 2,100 children facing this loss annually.
