Everton midfielder Aurora Galli has sustained an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury during her team's Women's Super League opener against Brighton & Hove Albion, which ended in a 4-0 defeat. The 27-year-old was forced off the pitch late in the game and will now undergo rehabilitation at the club's Finch Farm training facility. Galli is the third player in the WSL to suffer an ACL injury in recent weeks, following Chelsea's Jorja Fox and Sophie Ingle. Manager Brian Sorensen noted that Galli was on crutches after the match, and a subsequent scan confirmed the injury. Galli, who joined Everton from Juventus in 2021, hopes to recover in time to participate in Euro 2025 with the Italian national team. The club has expressed its support for her recovery during this challenging time.
