Fairfield Man Arrested in Attempted Kidnapping

A 14-year-old girl was allegedly targeted in an attempted kidnapping while walking to the Matt Garcia Learning Center in Fairfield, California. The suspect, 52-year-old Samuel Galvao, reportedly tried to grab the girl, who escaped and alerted her father and school officials. Police responded quickly, using surveillance footage and a drone to help locate Galvao hiding on the third floor of Fairfield City Hall. Both the victim and an independent witness positively identified Galvao as the perpetrator. He was arrested after resisting and was booked into Solano County Jail on charges of attempted kidnapping and resisting arrest. Fairfield police commended the student's bravery and encouraged parents to talk to their children about personal safety.
