Uber Launches Metro Ticketing, Plans B2B Logistics

Uber has launched metro ticket booking within its app for Delhi Metro users, in partnership with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and ONDC, allowing QR-based ticket purchases via UPI payments. The service now also provides real-time transit information and promotional offers, including 50% discounts on tickets. Uber aims to streamline urban mobility by enabling multimodal transport planning on its platform, with plans to expand the service to three more Indian cities by 2025. The company will soon introduce B2B logistics services through ONDC, beginning with food delivery and later expanding to sectors like e-commerce and healthcare. This collaboration seeks to unify the fragmented logistics ecosystem while making public transport more accessible. The launch follows a memorandum of understanding signed during CEO Dara Khosrowshahi's 2024 visit to India.
