UNLV Football Player Ben Christman Dies at 21

Ben Christman, a 21-year-old UNLV football player and former offensive lineman at Ohio State and Kentucky, died on February 11, 2025, from cardiac arrhythmia and cardiomyopathy, as determined by the Clark County Coroner’s Office. He had experienced chest pains during practice the day before and underwent an EKG that appeared normal. Christman was found unresponsive in his off-campus apartment the next morning. The death was ruled natural, with authorities finding no evidence of foul play or substance abuse. Teammates, coaches, and school officials described Christman as a respected leader and positive influence. A memorial scholarship fund has been created in his honor to support student-athletes.
