Caruso brings 15 years of experience from the American Hockey League, including her most recent role as vice president of hockey operations and governance. PWHL vice president Jayna Hefford praised Caruso's strong operational background and community ties, stating she is well-suited to lead the team during its second season. The hiring comes amid challenges faced by the team, including scrutiny over draft decisions and a monthslong review that necessitated a leadership change. Caruso expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity to defend the Walter Cup and contribute to the growth of women's sports. The PWHL is set to commence its second season in December.
