Devante Gunn Charged After High-Speed Police Chase, Alleged Gun Grab

Devante Gunn, 32, has been charged with multiple felonies, including attempting to disarm a police officer and aggravated fleeing, following a high-speed chase in Naperville on March 14, 2025. The incident began when police attempted to pull over Gunn's vehicle, which had suspended registration plates; he fled, reaching speeds of 68 mph while evading capture. After abandoning his car in an apartment complex parking lot, Gunn attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended after officers deployed multiple taser strikes. During the arrest, he allegedly tried to grab an officer's firearm and was found with a loaded gun in his waistband. Judge Anthony Coco denied him pretrial release, citing the dangerous nature of the incident.
