Y.E. Yang Wins First PGA Tour Champions Title

Y.E. Yang claimed his first PGA Tour Champions title by defeating Bernhard Langer in a playoff at the Ascension Charity Classic, finishing with a final round of 5-under 66. Yang forced the playoff with a critical 6-foot par putt, while Langer, aiming for his 18th consecutive season win, shot a 64 to tie at 13-under 200. In the playoff, Yang sank a 10-foot birdie putt after Langer's attempt fell short. This victory marks Yang's first title in 72 starts on the senior tour, where he has been competing since 2022. Yang, who is best known for his historic win over Tiger Woods in the 2009 PGA Championship, expressed that this win was particularly special for him. Stewart Cink, who was leading until late in the round, finished third after struggling on the final holes.
