Multiple US Counties Report August Home Listing Price Declines

Recent data from Realtor.com indicates a general decline in median home list prices across several U.S. counties and metro areas in August 2025 compared to the previous month and the previous year. Middlesex County saw a 4.9% monthly decrease to $899,000 and a 5.9% drop year-over-year, with homes spending a median of 40 days on the market, faster than the national median. Bay County's median home price fell 1.5% monthly to $422,500 and 5.6% annually, but homes remained listed longer than average at 103 days. Plymouth County experienced a 3.8% monthly decrease to $769,000, yet showed a 2.7% annual increase, with homes moving relatively quickly. Alachua and Lake Counties also reported slight monthly declines of 2.2% and 1.1%, respectively, with longer median listing times than the national average. Nationally, the median home price slightly decreased to $429,990, with homes listing at about 1,844 square feet.
