Anthropic Rolls Out Beta Voice Mode for Claude AI Assistant

Anthropic has launched a beta voice mode for its Claude AI assistant, enabling users to have spoken conversations and receive audible responses, with features like on-screen key points, transcripts, and summaries. The voice mode, initially available in English on mobile apps for both iOS and Android, brings Claude up to parity with rival offerings from OpenAI, Google, and xAI, and allows users to interact hands-free, making it particularly useful when multitasking. Users can choose from five distinct voices, switch between text and voice seamlessly, and discuss documents and images, though some integrations—such as accessing Google Calendar, Gmail, and Docs—are limited to paid or enterprise subscribers. Free users can expect 20-30 voice conversations per day before hitting session limits. In addition to voice mode, Anthropic has expanded web search capabilities to all free users, enhancing the relevance and recency of Claude’s responses.
