Former BBC Radio Journalist Jack Tymon Charged With Rape, Assault
Jack Tymon, a former BBC Radio Derby journalist and presenter from 2021 to early 2025, appeared in Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court charged with three counts of rape and one count of assault related to offences alleged to have occurred in 2017. He is accused of raping one woman twice and raping and assaulting a second woman. Tymon, aged 27 and from the Ilkeston/Morley area of Derbyshire, did not enter any pleas during the hearing and spoke only to confirm personal details. He was granted conditional bail and is due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on October 13 for a plea and directions hearing. The BBC has declined to comment on the case due to ongoing legal proceedings. Tymon was previously a student union president at Derby University and began hosting shows on Radio Derby during his student days.
