Escaped Horses Cause Traffic Delays on M-6 Freeway

On Wednesday morning, more than a dozen horses escaped from a boarding facility and wandered onto the M-6 freeway near Byron Township, Michigan, causing significant traffic disruptions. Michigan State Police, along with the Kent County Sheriff's Office and animal control, responded by closing a portion of the highway to safely corral the horses. Approximately 15 horses were reported loose, and troopers successfully gathered them into a trailer by about 9:00 a.m. Despite the confusion, no injuries or accidents were reported, and the horses were returned safely to their owners. The incident highlights the coordinated efforts of local authorities to manage unexpected events on major roadways.
