Viking to Launch Assam River Cruises in 2027

Viking has announced its first river cruises in India, launching the luxury vessel Viking Brahmaputra on the Brahmaputra River in Assam with inaugural journeys set for 2027. The 80-guest ship offers 40 outside staterooms with private verandas, as well as amenities such as a spa, fitness center, and an open-air Sky Bar, all reflecting Viking’s Scandinavian style. The 15-day 'Wonders of India' itinerary combines an eight-day river cruise with guided land tours in Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur, allowing guests to visit up to 10 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the Taj Mahal and Kaziranga National Park. This marks Viking’s entry into India's river cruising market. Optional pre- and post-trip extensions are available in Delhi, Dubai, Kathmandu, and Cochin/Mumbai. Bookings are open for 2027 and 2028 departures.
