Seven Dead in Nueva Vizcaya Landslide

Super Typhoon Man-yi has wreaked havoc across the northern Philippines, resulting in at least seven confirmed deaths from a landslide in Nueva Vizcaya province, where the storm's heavy rains saturated the soil. The deceased included two girls aged 8 and 18, and five boys aged between 12 and 16, all from the same family. The storm, which is the sixth major cyclone to strike the region in a month, has caused significant damage, leaving nearly 700,000 people displaced and more than 8,000 houses damaged or destroyed. Local officials are initiating a state of calamity declaration to facilitate recovery efforts, as power outages continue to affect over 100 cities. Disaster response teams are actively searching for additional victims believed to be trapped under debris. The cumulative effect of these storms has resulted in approximately 170 fatalities and impacted around 9 million people in the region.
