Southampton Sign Ben Brereton Diaz

Southampton have signed Chilean striker Ben Brereton Diaz from Villarreal for approximately £7 million on a four-year contract. Brereton Diaz, who scored six goals in 14 Premier League appearances during a loan spell at Sheffield United last season, expressed excitement about joining the newly-promoted Premier League club. The 25-year-old forward, who was born in Stoke and has 33 caps for Chile, struggled for game time at Villarreal but made a name for himself at Blackburn Rovers with 47 goals in 177 appearances. Southampton manager Russell Martin praised Brereton Diaz's versatility, athleticism, and goalscoring ability, viewing him as a strong addition to the squad. Additionally, Southampton have signed Japanese midfielder Kuryu Matsuki from FC Tokyo, who will spend the season on loan at Turkish club Goztepe.
