Elderly Woman Killed by Pit Bull in Roxbury

Jeriline Brady-McGinnis, a 73-year-old woman from Roxbury, Massachusetts, was mauled to death by her pit bull in her home, while her husband and two police officers were injured trying to intervene. The attack occurred around 4:30 p.m. on November 18, and despite efforts to save her, Brady-McGinnis succumbed to her injuries in surgery. The dog was shot by responding officers and later euthanized by Boston Animal Control. Friends described Brady-McGinnis as a loving person who treated her pets like family, but neighbors expressed concerns about the number of dogs in the home, claiming they were known to be dangerous. The police department's homicide unit is investigating the incident due to the severity of the injuries. Three other dogs were removed from the residence following the attack.
