Forest fires in Chile

Central Chile has faced deadly forest fires, with 19 dead and about 1,100 homes destroyed. There are 92 active fires in the central and southern areas of the country. The Valparaiso region is the most affected, with the fires causing significant devastation and prompting evacuations. President Gabriel Boric declared a state of emergency, and firefighting and rescue efforts are ongoing to control the situation.
