Weyerhaeuser Q3 Profit Rises, Sales Top $1.7B
Weyerhaeuser reported third-quarter revenue of $1.72 billion and adjusted EPS of $0.06, topping analyst expectations; GAAP net income was $80 million, up from $28 million a year earlier. Timberlands adjusted core profit rose to $148 million (from $122 million) and real estate unit profit increased over 18% to $91 million. The company controls roughly 10.4–10.5 million acres, completed $459 million of timberland acquisitions in the quarter and has three divestiture packages of non-core timberlands expected to generate about $410 million. Management cited supportive policy changes, including a 10% tariff on imported timber and lumber. Shares fell about 2% after the results and remain down roughly 17.6% year-to-date.
