Super Typhoon Man-yi Wreaks Havoc in the Philippines
Super Typhoon Man-yi, known locally as Pepito, caused devastating damage in the northern Philippines, leading to at least seven deaths from a landslide in Ambaguio, Nueva Vizcaya. The typhoon, one of six major storms to hit the region recently, brought torrential rains and powerful winds, causing landslides and widespread destruction. Over a million people were affected, with thousands evacuated to emergency shelters. The U.S. has offered humanitarian aid and military assistance to the Philippines in response to the disaster. As Man-yi moved away, cleanup efforts began with Filipinos clearing debris and repairing homes. Authorities continue to assess the full impact, including additional deaths and missing persons related to the storm's aftermath.
