Four Charged Over British Man's Fatal Cocaine Overdose En Route to Dubai
Jensen Westhead, a 20-year-old British man from Thornton-Cleveleys, Lancashire, died after swallowing multiple packages of cocaine at a hotel in Manchester before flying to Dubai. One of the cocaine packages burst inside his stomach during the flight, causing a fatal overdose. Westhead was found dead at the Hotel Avalon in Dubai on December 4, 2024. Following an investigation by Lancashire Police, four individuals—Rebecca Hatch, Glenn Hatch, Alexander Tofton, and Steven Stephenson—have been charged with conspiracy to fraudulently evade drug exportation laws, with Stephenson also charged with involvement in cocaine supply. The suspects are scheduled to appear in Lancaster Magistrates' Court on October 31. Authorities have underscored the severe dangers of drug trafficking and the health risks associated with ingesting illegal substances for smuggling purposes.
