Five-Star QB Ryder Lyons Commits to BYU

Five-star quarterback Ryder Lyons, one of the top national prospects in the 2026 class, has committed to BYU over Oregon and other major programs, announcing his decision on ESPN’s 'The Pat McAfee Show.' Lyons, who received his first scholarship offer from BYU while in eighth grade, highlighted the program’s early belief in him as pivotal. The California Gatorade Player of the Year led Folsom High School to notable achievements, throwing for over 3,000 yards and 46 touchdowns during his junior season. He intends to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints after high school, joining BYU in 2027.
