Three Arrested After Attempted Kidnapping of Patient From Novato Health Facility

Three suspects have been arrested following an attempted kidnapping of a 60-year-old patient from a Novato healthcare facility, allegedly to gain control over his finances. Laura Boyle, Paula Burkes, and Michael Roberts, who are related to the victim, are charged with kidnapping, burglary, conspiracy, and false imprisonment, among other offenses. The incident occurred when the suspects entered the facility and assaulted a nurse who intervened. They were apprehended shortly after in their getaway vehicle, and the victim was safely returned. A Marin County judge has ordered their release under conditions including GPS monitoring and no contact with the victim. A fourth suspect has been identified but has not yet been arrested.
