The court determined that the watch, valued at approximately 4 million Swiss Francs ($4.51 million), was stolen by Ono's former chauffeur and later sold to an Italian collector who claimed ownership. The watch was given to Lennon in 1980, just months before his assassination, and features an inscription referencing their song '(Just Like) Starting Over.' The court's decision upholds earlier judgments from Geneva courts, affirming that there was no evidence Ono intended to give the watch to her chauffeur. The watch, currently held in Geneva, was discovered missing by Ono in 2014 after its value was appraised for auction. The Italian collector's appeal was dismissed, paving the way for the watch's return to Ono.
