Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez allegedly slapped TV cameraman Jhonny Jackson following Argentina's 2-1 loss to Colombia in a World Cup qualifying match. Jackson, who works for Caracol Televisión and RCN Deportes, claimed the incident occurred as he was filming Martínez greeting another player. Footage captured by Jackson shows the camera shaking and falling after the impact. Colombia's association of sports journalists, ACORD, has called for FIFA to impose an exemplary sanction on Martínez, condemning the act as an attack on freedom of expression. Neither Martínez nor the South American soccer body CONMEBOL have commented on the incident. Argentina currently leads the South American World Cup qualifying standings.
