Royals' Lucas Erceg exits game after left foot injury
Kansas City Royals reliever Lucas Erceg was forced to leave Friday night's game against the Detroit Tigers after being struck on the left foot by a 109 mph line drive off the bat of Riley Greene in the seventh inning. Erceg immediately collapsed in pain and was unable to walk off the field without assistance from trainers and manager Matt Quatraro. Prior to the injury, Erceg had pitched 6 2/3 scoreless innings over eight outings this season. The Royals are expected to provide further information on his condition after additional evaluation.
